Ingredients
30g golden syrup
30g butter
30g soft brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
lemon
50ml double cream or whipping cream
Method
- Place a saucepan on scales and weigh out 30g of golden syrup
- Add 50g of butter or margarine to the pan
- Add 30g soft brown sugar
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Gently heat the mixture until ingredients have melted
- Remove pan from the heat
- Squeeze 1/4 juice from a lemon and add to mixture
- Stir in 50ml of double cream
- Mixture will thicken slightly as it cools
