Card sort of some celebrities - can easily be adapted to make more relevant. The class will work in pairs/small groups to order the celebrities salaries, also to make an educated guess as to what their salary may be. Once theirs has been done the celebrities will be brought up onto the board (un-ordered) nominated learners will read out the actual salary - demonstrating place value. Another student can then be picked to work out the celebrities age.
