Classification Guess Who Game KS3 KS2 KS4

This is a classification game based on the Guess who game.

The instructions are:
HOW TO PLAY

1 YOU NEED 2 PLAYERS TO PLAY THIS GAME.
2 HIDE YOUR GRID FROM THE OTHER PLAYER.
3 EACH PLAYER CHOOSES A CHARACTER AND PUT A RING AROUND THE NAME. DO NOT LET THE OTHER PLAYER SEE THE CHARACTER YOU HAVE CHOSEN.
4 PLAYER 1 GOES FIRST. ASK ONE QUESTION ABOUT THE CHARACTERS APPEARANCE THAT CAN BE ANSWERED YES OR NO.
5 CROSS OUT CHARACTERS THAT YOU HAVE RULED OUT FROM YOUR QUESTION.
6 THE WINNER IS THE FIRST TO GUESS WHO THE CHARACTER THE OTHER PLAYER HAS CHOSEN.

Teacher notes:

Print out the game sheet. Pupils have a sheet each and will play in pairs.

Ask the pupils to write down the questions they asked.

Introduce the idea of a classification tree of questions that would have found the person in the least number of questions.
