30 slide PPT that I used with an A2 Geography class to introduce the sub-topic of Coral reefs, as part of the Coastal Environments Physical Geography topic.

The PPT includes:

• a detailed definition of coral, polyps, exo-skeletons, symbiotic relationship with algae, value as an ecosystem.
• location of main coral reefs, and the conditions required to encourage coral growth - temperature, light, sediment, salinity

The last slide contains review questions that can be used as a tasksheet, or for class discussion

This material could also be easily adapted and used in the IGCSE Coasts topic.
