Lesson on teaching Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions. Designed for a group working towards expectations in year 7. So from the year 6 scheme of work. I also used for a low ability group in year 8. Could be used a revision of mixed / improper fractions before moving onto operation with mixed numbers.
The extension work was from a text book - ordering and reasoning with improper fractions so an extra activity to hand on this would easily replace it.
Used for a an OFSTED observation and received positive feedback - the key is the whiteboard work and questionning.
I think I have used a variety of other powerpoints and resources taken from TES.

This looks exactly what I am looking for for my Y6 class recaping moving between improper and mixed numbers. I love the stem sentences to support the process and build memory through repetition. Thanks!

Very useful PowerPoint, with practical examples for the children to try.
