countdown style phonics challenge, for spelling or word level starter

Ready to print, chop and laminate. Created as a supply resource as a 'go to' activity.
Used a youtube video of the countdown backing music to add effect!
Cut up the phonics sound cards, put them into piles and ask children to select one letter or two letter graphemes.
Include specific sounds to focus on specific phase or stage of letters and sounds or use randomly.
Sounds are included in phase order.
At the end some sounds are repeated if they are more common, for using if you plan on using random selection of all phases.
Pupils are challenged to either create the longest word they can or to create as many words as possible. I gave 1 point for every 2-4 letter word and more points for longer words.
