Genie Microcontrollers offer students a fantastic array of inventive opportunities to develop a broad range of projects. Students are able to use their imagination and solve real life problems with these low cost PIC's, however managing a classroom full of students who all want to develop different circuits can be a challenge.

I developed the Genie how 2 book in order to give students the opportunity to independently create their own circuits with minimal teacher support.

The students start by creating a basic Genie E18 circuit (I have found this to be the most versatile and best value for money). The student then use the guide to show them how to add whichever input and output components that they choose.

Students can follow the guide to create a PCB layout and to create a flow chart to program their microcontroller.

I have found this to be a very effective tool within my classroom and it encourages differentiation and independent learning.

I hope you find the guide as useful as my students do.
