Here I have a week’s planning (4 lessons) on Wombats for Year 1 English. The planning is non-fiction literacy and is a prelude to the following weeks planning which is fiction work actually based on the story.
This planning has learning objectives, success criteria detailed descriptions for teacher input and what should be expected of the children based on 3 differentiated outcomes (high, middle and low).
The planning focuses on researching Wombats through various means, group work, use of ICT, Fact writing and the creation of fact files. Theres the opportunity to branch off researching further Australian animals or simply Australia in general.
