This resource contains introductory activities, prediction activities, questions, and some writing activities for An Astrologer’s Day by R.K. Narayan. This story is not included in the pack; however, it can be found on the Internet. This story can be read as part of the theme of Identities, and it ties in well if you are looking at contemporary issues such as scammers, people with fake identities, or people who disguise their true selves. This resource makes no overt reference to English B; however, there are questions which are similar to those found on Paper 2: reading. There are also critical thinking questions about how the writer uses language, and the effect created which will introduce students to skills they will need for the HL oral. Even though there is no literature component in SL, we at Uplingo believe that students of all language acquisition levels benefit from studying literature; therefore, if you have a stronger SL cohort then you can give this story a try.
