A short text about Easter in French which can be used as a starter (or longer activity!). Pupils identify cognates and work out which strategies they have used to try to understand the text. They can then add any new ones they come up with to the list.

Pretty picture but factually inaccurate. Jews don't celebrate Easter - it is a Christian festival. The closest Jewish festival is Passover which is to remember God's protection of His people during the last of the 10 plagues in Egypt, not the crossing of the Red Sea.
