LESSON 1-4: This resource is part of a tailored unit to help students understand the differences between writing for Component 1 and 2. I have designed the ‘Life on Mars’ and ‘The Bridge’ lessons separately so as to focus on all of RAIL (Representation, Audience, Industry and Language (Media) respectively. ‘The Bridge’ lessons will follow exactly the same format as the ‘Life On Mars’ series of lessons and will include 3 Power (1. ML/ 2. REP/ 3. IND/AUD.
This lesson focuses on:
-Context of the show
-Symbolic, Technical and Audio codes (complete with viewing tasks)
-Narrative
-RESISTS and iconography
-The Nordic Noir tradition
-Character deconstructions
-Foci on the Media Language theorists as well as synoptic frameworks from other areas of the specification to boost student responses.
-Deconstruction of the title sequence
