This is a one page handout which includes five different strategies to support and encourage children to make choices. This is specifically important for children with learning difficulties and Autism.

Allowing your child to make choices (where appropriate) throughout the day will give them the opportunity to send you a message and let you know their preferences. Most importantly, this will help to teach the child/student that communication is about taking turns and that they are able tot tell you what they want - a great way to start communication to develop.
