This is an ESL English lesson, tailored to the new Pearson Edexcel (2023) ESL GCSE examination series. The lesson focuses on the second unit: Education.
Students read a non-fiction text about the importance of sport in education and answer GCSE-style questions about it which they can then peer-assess. They then use these points to write their own article persuading schools to increase the number of PE lessons on the curriculum. Most tasks are differentiated to accommodate those with a basic level of English, to the more proficient speakers.
Students get the chance to practice reading and writing skills in this lesson.
