For the bad example of how honey is made, I put the children in pairs to highlight what made the exlpanation text bad. Then we looked at the improved version of how honey is made and the children explained to each other what made it better. After this, we looked at the Hersey's link about how chocoate is made, with a follow-up task of the children cutting out the pictures and instructions; then matching them and gluing them onto A3 paper, in the correct order.

Thank you for this fantastic exemplar on how to write an explanation. This will certainly help my son to develop a greater understanding of how to develop and structure his ideas.
