Extended letter writing - Alles über mich

This set of resources is designed to help students to write their first extended piece in German using all the vocabulary they have learnt at the start of their German course (Alles über mich).

The PowerPoint includes:
- an introduction to letter writing in German;
- a 'Spot the mistakes' slide including a letter with 15 common mistakes among the groups I teach, which could be used either before the letter is written as a recap, or afterwards as a feedback activity;
- a slide on target setting for the next unit.

Also included is a 'Success criteria' sheet which is broken down into layout, content and accuracy with scores for each. This enables students to easily identify where they can improve and can be used as a basis for correcting work. Teachers can show the success criteria to students in advance and also use the sheet for easy but effective marking. It is recommended that students are given time to respond to their feedback and make corrections.
