EYFS to KS1 Curriculum Transition

A document outlining how the EYFS and KS1 curriculum are connected. It identifies Key Stage 1 readiness outcomes - all of which are outcomes that will be covered in your Early Years provision. The document organises these against each of the Key Stage 1 Curriculum subjects.

This is a useful document for EYFS Leaders - helping your team to be able to communicate what they plan and teach in Early Years and how this prepares the pupils for learning Key Stage 1, whilst maintaining the integrity of a high quality EYFS curriculum. It maps the ELG that are being developed when such opportunities for learning exist in the EYFS classroom.

It is a useful document for Subject Leaders, to show the progression from EYFS into Key Stage 1. The traditional academic subjects are not explicitly referenced in the EYFS curriculum, but there is plenty of learning there that is essential in preparing pupils to learn in your subject when they start Year 1.
