Factorising expressions using a single bracket

The following pack which is a lesson which follows the new and approved mastery curriculum contains the following:

• A powerpoint which includes a starter, plenary and all demonstration activities.
• A lesson plan which explains and outlines what happens in the lesson.
• Two worksheets, both which are identical in questions however one of these is scaffolded. The scaffolded worksheet already takes out the HCF for a few of the questions to support those who are less able.

I was observed with a top set year 8 class for this lesson and was graded as outstanding (grade 1). This resource worked extremely well with this class and has an emphasis on investigation which prompts critical thinking.
