I’ve designed 10 fractions calculations (all four operations) including errors based on common misconceptions. These range from basic mistakes to more subtle inefficiencies. Students have to look carefully to identify errors and correct the method. This helps alleviate the stigma of being wrong as they talk openly about what ‘traps’ to avoid. They seem to enjoy the challenge of spotting the teacher’s mistakes! This resource includes Word and PDF files plus handwritten solutions.
