This is a ready-to-teach GCSE scheme of work for Frankenstein, with 29 high quality lessons. It was designed with the AQA specification in mind but would take minimal adaptation to fit other specifications.
This SOW makes use of a variety of pedagogical techniques, appropriately differentiated to enable all learners to succeed. The lessons include but are not limited to: using talk targets for student discussions; explicitly teaching challenging vocabulary and embedding it into the lesson; purposeful specific guiding questions to support annotations; quotation recall embedded throughout; and a variety of question options to enable students to challenge themselves in their writing.
*The DO NOW activities may need adapting as they include some recall references to the Power and Conflict poetry cluster as well as some specific strategies for Language Paper 1 that I use within my teaching.
The first couple of lessons are available for free as a trial – you can download this before you buy to see if you like the style and quality of the SOW.

These lessons are planned with the idea that students shout pre-read the chapter they will cover in lesson and the lesson is them focused on zooming into specific key moments.*
