It contains an age-appropriate, 200-slide Powerpoint lesson and a 45-page workbook on measures.
These resources will enable students to achieve these outcomes:
use metric measures of length- millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres
use measures of weight - grams, kilograms
use measures of capacity - millilitres, litres
read and compare temperatures
read and use simple scales to the nearest labelled division
use knowledge of measure to solve real-life problems
PowerPoint Lesson
Many opportunities are provided in the PowerPoint for pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of measure and to apply this knowledge to solve solve real-life problems. The PowerPoint contains links to several videos about measuring length, weight, temperature, reading scales and example exam questions. It is ideal for introducing the measures component of the specification and for revision purposes.
Workbook
The 45-page workbook contains 11 information pages, 32 worksheets (with answers), 3 progress checks and a certificate of achievement. The resource is available in PDF and an editable PowerPoint version to enable personalisation of the resource. It can be used for classwork, homework, revision or as an independent learning pack.
