These functional maths worksheets encourage pupils to use probability and work out gambling statistics using imaginary money. They can make and track real life bets and investments and see if they make money. Normally they don't and this can serve as a useful link to citizenship about the hazards of gambling Also included is a roulette sheet that links in some probability.

I found this great roulette wheel that I used as a starter activity in conjunction with these resources here http://activeden.net/item/random-roulette-table-wheel/11012

A great functional way of teaching a variety of topics from probability work, to ratio and fractions. I think that the pupils would be engaged with this and it could be taken further in many ways, would make an ideal cross curricular activity combined with looking at gambling problems (citizenship) as well as the business side of it (business studies).
