This is a lesson designed to teach about the group 7 elements of the periodic table. Ideally coming off the back of atomic structure, periodic table and group 1 metals. There is a starter sheet recapping The group 1 metals for students as soon as they enter followed by a presentation outlining displacement reactions and introducing group 7. The lesson structure is easily inferable from the resources. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the RSC experiment in which you have halide solutions in a Petri dish, reacting with chlorine gas which is being produced in the centre.
