Two fully resourced lessons which I teach as the 3rd and 4th lessons in the Electricity topic. Suitable for a higher ability Y10 class. Designed for AQA.
First lesson covers definition of resistance and why we experience resistance in a wire and the required practical activity to investigate how resistance varies with the length of the wire. Note: I teach this before teaching Ohms law so the equation is used to calculate resistance but is not fully explained.
Second lesson has a set of model results for students to use to draw a graph, with exam question practice on the practical.
Contains lesson starters, teach section, practical task, individual task (exam Q practice), AfL quiz and plenary. All answers to tasks are included on ppt.
