This resource has been designed for tracking progress throughout the GCSE course. Using the 9-1 GCSE grades, I have added fine grades with an L (low) to H (high) scale so progress within grades can be tracked through rigorous assessment. I have also used a "working towards" grade (WT1-WT8) for students who are below GCSE grading. There is a very brief description of what each grade represents from an MFL perspective which can be adapted if appropriate. To reflect the ability level of different students, there are 3 sheets with grade ranges as follows: 2 to 9, 2 to 5 and WT1 to 5. Instructions are included so students know how to use the sheets, although teacher guidance is advised until the practice becomes routine. Finally, There is a mention of DSIB (the school inspection organisation in Dubai) because DSIB specifies the % of students that have to reach certain grades for schools to be graded up to "outstanding". This can be adapted or removed.
