Summary of passage

George Frideric Handel, a famous composer from the 18th century, was born in Germany in 1685 and had a love for music from a young age. Despite his father’s wishes for him to study law, Handel pursued a career in music and moved to Italy at the age of 18 to learn from the best musicians and composers. He later moved to England, where he became popular and even obtained British citizenship. Handel’s notable works include the “Water Music,” which was performed on barges on the River Thames, and the oratorio “Messiah,” often performed during Christmas time, with the “Hallelujah Chorus” being one of his most well-known pieces. Despite losing his eyesight in his later years, Handel continued to compose music by dictating to his assistants. Today, Handel is remembered as one of the greatest composers, with his music still being loved and played by musicians worldwide.
