This Halloween lesson contains a set of questions with keys, paired to a video and based on the legend of Jack o’ Lantern. It is suitable for ESL intermediate students aged 9 to 12 and native speakers aged 6 to 10. Students practice their listening comprehension skills, but also their vocabulary (some questions ask the meaning of some words/adjectives), plus they get to know the origins of jack o’ lanterns. After watching the video and answer the questions students can share their own experience of carving their Jack o’ lanterns .
