This is designed for the new AQA GCSE Specification focussing on Elizabethan England.
There are 2 lessons in the one powerpoint, starting with Elizabeth's marriage and then looking at Elizabeth's heirs.
The first lesson begins looking at issues and why marriage is a problem, and the options open to Elizabeth. It then considers a video by Starkey, and a sorting exercise looking at for and against marriage for Elizabeth, followed by a table to assess potential suitors and a small bit on Parliaments involvement.
The second lesson has a little context, followed by considering the different heirs that were around, and the issues for each of those heirs. This includes a pros and cons list for each candidate, and a family tree to see who has the greatest claim.
You will need access to the AQA textbook for these lessons.

The second lesson is almost non-existent and looks rushed. I would remove this and market it as a single lesson.
