After completing several mystery case studies in class (eg Mary Celeste,Pajama Girl), they had to choose one mystery to investigate as an assessment.The aim was to develop investigative skills, critical thinking, use and analysis of sources to reconstruct the past, and to show that history is not just a record of 'facts' but open to significant interpretation.This was the students favourite topic (voted in a survey) and they enjoyed researching and presenting a 'detective' style investigation on a mystery of their choosing. They also liked picking their own presentation style.
