IB Global Politics - Monitoring Human Rights

A simple PowerPoint presentation that covers the codification, protection and monitoring of human rights. The lesson includes a class discussion, a video clip, group research on specific human rights treaties and the degree to which specific countries (UK is chosen for this lesson) follow their treaty obligations with respect to human rights. The lesson concludes with a written task asking students to evaluate the degree to which the UN has the ability to monitor and protect human rights.
