A single lesson in PowerPoint format originally used with an IB HL class. The lesson begins with a student activity asking them to use real German election results to try and build a working coalition, thus introducing proportional representation and one of the inherent weaknesses of the Weimar Republic. Students are then asked to use resources linked on the slides to create a diagram of the structure of the Weimar Constitution in their notes. This is then followed up with a discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of the constitution and the extent to which this made the Weimar Republic fundamentally weak.
