We used 'The Indian in the Cupboard' by Lynne Reid Banks as the basis of a story writing English Unit. The second week of the unit, we looked at how authors use speech punctuation [this was a recap for us], and apply last week's learning of show not tell to use appropriate speech verbs. We then used show not tell to extend the reporting clause to show what the character is doing as they are speaking.

I downloaded Week 1 which I have looked at in detail and is a fantastic resource. I have not yet looked at this one but I can see all the files as they are for the week 1 planning and resources. Thank you for taking the time to make and then upload this. Fantastic time saver.
