An interactive reading model task based on a text about Spanish-born American football player, Alejandro Villanueva.
The text adapted from a Spanish-speaking newspaper, La Opinión, with information on Villanueva as a player as well as some personal history.
The Interactive Reading Model packet can be completed individually or in pairs and includes Preparation, Comprehension, Interpretation, Creation, and Extension tasks.
Great for working with students on literacy skills, pre, post, and during reading strategies, and to review and enhance vocabulary during a sports unit. My students were intimidated by the text at first but surprised to find out how much they understood when using the Interactive Reading Model packet.
