This 40-page editable Powerpoint lesson teaches students about the Iron Age in Britain, and how to write about it in the style of an information report. The lesson can be taught in one session or over several, depending on the needs of the students.

The lesson starts by presenting clear and accurate background information on: Iron Age forts, Iron Age farming, Iron Age culture and Iron Age arts and crafts. Questions are asked of the students as they are gradually introduced to the information. Students are then taken through a series of interactive steps to practice writing and speaking techniques essential for writing information reports, encouraging them to think independently, formulate their own opinions, and reflect on their learning.

The outcome is that students deliver an extended piece of high-quality non-fiction writing which they can be proud of, whilst also learning about the Iron Age.

Includes:
Well presented information, thoughtful questioning, fun activities, writing frames, text aids, self-assessment grids.

No extra preparation needed to confidently guide students through essential learning on the Iron Age and information report writing.
