These resources take a look at whether religion is dangerous, and cover the following topics: terrorism; 911; Irish conflict; holy war; just war; jihad; pacifism; and the UN. I have written this SOW to teach to our year 8's. It follows on from their year 7 topic Inspirational People - where we look at people like Martin Luther King, Nicky Cruz etc.
The media clips I use are just news clips found on youtube. One is a news clip on the Irish attackes, and the other is a movie maker about 911

Lovely resources thank you. Could you please post the link to the clip mentioned in lesson 1

Unfortunately it was a movie maker I made over 10 years ago- but TES doesn't allow the file to be uploaded. But there are similar things on YouTube. It was just a series of images showing perceived negative and then positive aspects of religion with music

Love the resource - would it be possible for you to provide some details about the clip or a few links? I could provide my email if that's easier? I really appreciate the module though it looks great!

This scheme of work is very interesting and students love it. Good for debates also. It's very hard to teach these sort of topics though without getting too political so that was a challenge but i survived.
