The stories are;
★ Today is Canada Day, me and my family are going to a special parade through the village. After the parade, we are going to have a picnic in the park, and then tonight we are going to watch the fireworks.
★ It’s the 4th of July and we are celebrating Independence Day. We’re having a barbecue for lunch, then we are going to wave our flags while watching the parade. Tonight, my father is going to set off some fireworks in our back yard to celebrate
★ I wake up to the sound of my father singing ‘God Bless America’ because today is Independence Day. My sister is in the kitchen in her America skirt and waving her American flag. My mom has made us special cupcakes for breakfast and my dad has put a huge American flag in our front yard.
★ Today, my brother is taking me fishing on the pier. He has given me some green boots to wear and he has hired a boat for us. My brother uses a fishing rod and I use a net on the other side of the boat and finally we catch a blue fish.
★ My dad has bought us a camper to go camping in. We set off to the camping park, by the time we arrive it’s dark and the moon is out. In the morning, we wake to the sun shining and my dad is standing there with all his fishing gear on.
★ Today we are doing a car wash to raise funds for our sports club. Lucy is standing out the front with a car wash sign. First, a green car comes in, we wash it with soap, then Fred washes it down with a hose pipe. At the end the driver gives us some cash for our collection.
★ Today, we are going to the carnival. My brother rushes to the ball toss game and throws the ball straight through the hole, he wins a goldfish! Next, we play hook-a-duck and I win a giant, pink teddy bear!
