This assembly is aimed at Lower Primary age range and through it children learn about the Hindu Festival of Makar Sankranti or Uttarayan. If you are in India in January, you are likely to find yourself amongst clusters of kites in the sky and most probably flying one! It is usually celebrated on the 14th of January however it is not uncommon to see excited families practicing their skills on roof tops for several days before. The children learn about some of the foods and traditions associated with this Kite Flying Festival.
