Good News! is a 4 lesson RE unit that teaches children about what good news is and what parables are in the Bible to spread good news.
Perfect to use with Understanding Christianity (the Gospel unit in KS1), this set of lessons are a great starting point to help children understand how Christians live their lives based on the Christian Values that are explained in the Bible.
Learning Objectives:
- To define and identify good news, and create collages representing their own good news stories.
- To generate ideas about what Jesus might say that was good news and create newspaper headlines based on their ideas.
- To identify and discuss a good news story from the Bible and explain why parables were used by Jesus as a teaching method.
- To explain how the story Jesus told teaches people to live as Christians, connecting it to Christian values.
