I’ve made these cards for children to use as a reference when answering practise questions and comprehensions. The cards have a (hopefully) child friendly definition of what the words means. Examples include: ‘extract’- a short passage from the text; ‘suggests’- what idea is given)
I was desperate for something like this after last year’s Reading paper, and as I couldn’t find anything I’ve just made them instead.
On the cards there are 2 symbols which tell the children whether the answer will be in their heads or in the text- quite often a combination of the two.
They are editable so you could add any other words you think of.
I’ve made these using the Joinit font, so you may want to adapt.
