I designed this activity as part of a lesson on solving simultaneous equations by substitution, but it could also be used for solving by elimination (although some equations will need to be manipulated first).
Pupils find the values of the two variables in each question and decode the secret message using the grid provided.
There is an extension task at the end of the worksheet involving drawing graphs to check the previous answers.
