KS3 Map Skills

A full Scheme of Work for the topic of Map Skills for KS3.

There are 10 lessons complete with worksheets and print outs for each lesson.
There is attached a SOW, key word print out, learning log and an SEN booklet to follow the lessons.

The lesson titles are;

1. What do maps show?
2. How are maps different?
3. How do we use four figure grid references?
4. How do we use six figure grid references?
5. How do we measure height on a map?
6. How do we show scale on a map?
7. How do we interpret maps?
8. How do we use OS maps?
9. Where are famous landmarks of the world?
10. Where are our human and physical features of the U.K?

Every lesson has a learning objective and three check points.
Every lesson has a ‘Do Now’ that refers back to the previous lesson.
Every lesson has ‘green pen’ answers for students to feedback their work.

The SEN Booklet is to follow every lesson to adapt to lower abilities.
