Schemes of Learning Overview for KS3
Over the past week, I have developed comprehensive Schemes of Learning tailored for Key Stage 3 (KS3) French instruction. These schemes are meticulously mapped out for the entire academic year, providing a structured and progressive approach to lesson planning. They are designed to lay a strong foundation for students before they advance to their GCSE studies. Each scheme includes:
Lesson Objectives: Clear goals outlining what students are expected to learn and achieve.
Grammar: Focused grammar points relevant to the lesson’s content.
Phonics: Strategies and activities to strengthen phonetic skills and decoding.
Key Language & Vocabulary: Essential terms and phrases to be taught and practiced.
Retrieval Task: Activities to review and reinforce previously learned material.
Examples of Activities: Engaging exercises to support understanding and application.
Sample Sentences: Model sentences to demonstrate correct grammar and vocabulary usage.
Dictation: Exercises to assess and improve spelling and listening skills.
These Schemes of Learning offer a comprehensive roadmap for educators, ensuring a cohesive and effective teaching approach throughout the year and helping students build a solid foundation in French for their future GCSE studies and beyond.
(I have also added page numbers to Language books which you will need to purchase licences for)
