A full twelve lesson non-fiction unit based on the theme of ‘the power of words.’ The purpose of this unit is to review the difference between fiction and non-fiction writing, to review different types of non-fiction texts and to better understand each type of text’s unique conventions. Throughout this unit, students practice writing specific types of text with a goal of writing for different audiences and purposes.
