Designed as a quick starter, or a springboard for further discussion and research, students will match up Eminem’s song lyrics with the figurative language being used, such as a rhetorical question, simile, three part list and more.
Aimed at teenagers and young adults, who may not have engaged with language features before. GCSE / Functional Skills English.
Serving Suggestion: Students research the lyrics of bands and artists they like to find any language features being used. Introduce them to Canva or Publisher and get them to make posters about a band of their choice. I have an awesome poster made by a student that has examples of language features used in Manchester Indie music.
