This is a scheme of learning for a year 8 class, however it could be used for KS3 and KS4. It explores the extracts and themes from William Shakespeare's play 'Macbeth' through drama and design.

This PowerPoint consists of 7 weeks worth of lessons, including worksheets, commentary on how to access the lessons (in the notes section) and a milestone examination at the end of the SOL.

The overall learning objectives are: To know key scenes from the play Macbeth
To be able to present a costume and set design for a performance of Macbeth.

This SOL was created to introduce students to other aspects of Drama and engage them with Shakespearean text whilst preparing them for the OCR GCSE specification in Drama and Theatre Studies. This could be used to introduce the basic skills in theatre design for GCSE or BTEC courses.

The PowerPoint aims to visually engage students throughout their learning and provide opportunity for discussion, analysis and reflection alongside exploration and creative opportunities.
