Marcel Duchamp in his quotes - the French-born artist on his ready-made art, paintings and his artistic life in France and later in the United States - free resource for students, pupils, art-lovers and teachers in American art history
.
Marcel Duchamp became a famous artist for his invention of the ‘ready-made’ in modern art, like his works ‘Fountain’, ‘Bicycle Wheel’, and ‘Bottle Rack’.
Marcel Duchamp was a French-born artist, as two of his brothers. Duchamp described in his artist quotes the story of his ready-made art and his artist life - first in France and later in America. He looked back on his participation in Dada art movement as a young artist in France and his later involvement with French Surrealism. He criticized as older artist the later American Pop Art-scene of the 1960’s.
