Maths - Running a Football Club

This resource is designed to challenge L1 and L2 Functional Skill students and can also be used for students from year 7 - 11. The activity is designed to engage students who are interested in football with different areas of maths. The key skill for students to develop through the completion of this resource is their organisation of numbers and data. Addition, subtraction and multiplication are all included throughout the activity. Students must calculate the club’s annual income and expenditure and make decisions on which players to sell in order to ‘balance the books’ and keep the club afloat. For convenience, answers are provided in italic red.
