Minions: The Rise of Gru Movie Guide | Questions | Google Slides (PG - 2022) challenges students to explore puns, word play and meaning in context throughout the film. Identify a major twist within the plot, discuss how the minions help Gru and the life lesson that Gru learns from Wild Knuckles. Research the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac and identify which ones are represented in the movie. Finally, ask students to determine their sign and compare its characteristics to their personality.

This resource consists of 10 high-level, short answer and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information.

  **CCSS Note: I’ve taken the liberty of aligning certain reading standards with the act of consuming content via the movie instead. Although students are not reading they are asked to perform the same cognitive functions on the content that they consumed from the movie.

**Distance Learning Tips:

• Distribute the Google Slides version to each student
• Use the screen sharing tool on your group call software to play the movie
• Pause the movie at each question to give students time to write/discuss
