Originally in a newspaper in 2009. I found these made excellent homework tasks... They really got the class talking about the topic!

These are fantastic - but there is an error on the answer for the toucan one. The first part of the solution states that the pole bottom left is balanced and uses this to conclude that 2 teeth = 1 boot. Although this gives the correct answer this isn't true, it's not balanced here which is why it adds anticlockwise moment for the second part of the solution.

Submit reply Cancel Great puzzle for the high achievers and a more novel way to work through a problem. Takes a little of the maths out which is great!
