Create some festive sparkle with these 4 Christmas Card Design and Technology Lessons! Perfect for the last week of term or spread out across the Autumn term, these lessons are perfect to bring excitement to your classroom.
These lessons are based on the National Curriculum statements for Design and Technology in KS2 and follow the practise of Research, Design, Make and Evaluate.
Children will create a Christmas card with moving parts, such as a flap or pop-up. These are suitable for children across KS2 and really gets children thinking about the process behind product design.
This unit contains a PowerPoint, lesson plan and worksheets for each lesson. There are 48 PowerPoint slides altogether.

Lesson 1 and 2: L.O. use research and develop design criteria to inform the design of innovative, functional, appealing products that are fit for purpose, aimed at particular individuals or groups .
L.O. generate, develop, model and communicate their ideas through discussion, annotated sketches
Lesson 3: L.O. select from and use a wider range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks accurately
L.O. select from and use a wider range of materials and components, including construction materials, according to their functional properties and aesthetic qualities
Lesson 4: L.O. investigate and analyse a range of existing products
L.O. evaluate their ideas and products against their own design criteria and consider the views of others to improve their work
