Students will then look at the events of the murder of Emmett Till and study the lyrics of Bob Dylan's Emmett Till song and engage in a differentiated task:
Group 1-2 Write down 10 things you can learn about the story of Emmett Till.
Group 3-Why is this such an important event when looking at black civil rights in USA?
They will then look at the PPT slide info relating to Till's life and death in Mississippi including the disregard for justice from the all white jury. To complete, students will create a memorial to Emmett Till, again differentiated
Group 1-2 Design a Memorial to Emmett Till.
Group 3- Design a memorial and annotate to show its significance.
